LA Mediators

Mediators of Southern California

The best one-two punch for professional mediation marketing!

November 10 and 11 will be the best one-two punch ever for marketing the professional mediator. Period.

On November 10, our executive director, Kym Adams, will be presenting an interactive workshop "Using 21st Century Media to market your Mediation Practice." It's at the Beverly Hills Bar Ass'n, 300 South Beverly Drive, Second Floor, Beverly Hills CA 90212. Show up at 5:00 p.m. with a laptop and Kym will hook you up with Linkedin, Twitter and/or Facebook. Yes, Facebook. Annoy your children by getting on Facebook and sending them a friend request!

Then she will show you how you can do so much more than annoy your children with 21st century technology!

For anyone who wants in on 21st century marketing, this is a must. And it's free!

I am amazed at how many people under 30 use this technology as their primary communication vehicle. These people will be the movers and shakers, and decision maker as to whom to hire to mediate. Even old folks in their 40's like me have some presence. And yes, even Charles Parselle, my personal hero, and former first mate on the Mayflower, has Facebook and Linkedin.

So you can lead, follow, or get out of the way! If you want to have a presence in this Brave New World, be in Beverly Hills Nov. 10.

Then, on November 11, we will have an LA Mediators general meeting at Alan Saler's place in Valley Village. It's also free, and a pot luck. I think we might be full, but with Alan's permission, we could squeeze in one or two more.

The agenda is going to be threefold. One, a strategic brainstorm as to the future direction of LA Mediators and what we can do for each other and what the organization can continue to do for the professional mediator. Two, an open forum on anything. Yes, anything that is or should be on the mind of the professional mediator. Three, a step by step discussion of how to grow your professional mediation business. I will hand out work product to attendees. I will share the steps I took, and others have taken before me, to get from the concept of wanting to be a full-time paid mediator, to actually having 30 paid cases a month. Believe me, it can be done. I did it, as have others in attendance. We promise to be an open book on how to do it.

There really is PLENTY of work. You just have to know how to get it. No one can get it for you. We will talk about how to do it. That is November 11.

If you want in on the November 11 meeting, then RSVP on the ning site or get ahold of Kym.

And most importantly, I will bring wine. We are going to have a good time, and you are welcome to be a part of it.

Thank you Bob! I am really excited to share with everyone all my secrets that I have pocketed this year! Yes, I agree if I can do it as a non-atty mediator ANYONE can! There is plenty of work out there.
The Round Table is going to be a meeting our members don't want to miss out of either!
Two very exciting days ahead. I can't wait to see everyone again too!

See everyone next week!
